ASHKAN GALEHDARI One piece can depict an extraordinary space beyond the real world. One artwork can even create a whole brand-new world. After creating an image of a new world – or representing that in any possible shape – most artists are so surprised by their discovery that they stop the art exploration process and study at this stage. Ashkan creates a new world in his works, and when this world is created with its new order, his work begins. He portrays simple scenes of this realm that, although new to us, are familiar to the possible people of that world. In such a context, Ashkan waits in the corner of the landscape to reach “The Decisive Moment”, the moment when a symbolic event has not yet begun, but it is about to happen, Or just a moment after that. When facing these works, the audience must first discover the new world that Ashkan has created, and if they can understand it, that event will be depicted in their imagination.  That event is a ritual; A ritual in its ancient meaning. It is a ritual that gives everyday elements a symbolic function and defamiliarizes them. Ritual prompts us to look at the details. Ritual forces us to reinterpret the trivial elements of our daily lives. And this is precisely what Ashkan does by creating his pieces. Now the audience should enter the scene like a detective. put his hand on the stove and see if it is hot or not. Or see the edge of the cup to see if there is a trace of lipstick on it or not; Or maybe hide in a corner and see if anyone is in the scene or if everyone is gone.
